The staff was wonderful, spoke great English, and had good suggestions on what to do in the area. The hotel was also very clean.

    Good

Location was ok as the metro was near., the ginza line connects to a few of the sights easily.

Room v small but then that's Tokyo

The Monterey Ginza was the best hotel we stayed at for our two week trip to Japan. With a JR pass the JR line was only 4 minutes away, and the Imperial Palace only 10 minutes away via brisk walking. The room had a great layout, the bathroom was excellent, and there was plenty of room for two people, The location was so excellent that we never had to use a cab.The front desk staff was great at even 4am when they gave us directions (with a map) to the fish market for the Blue Fin Tuna Auction, With a Lawson's and 7-11 right across the street snacks and quick stop drinks were easy and finally; if jet lagged, some of the best window shopping in the world was only 3 minutes away. I would definitely, without a doubt, stay at the Monterey Ginza again.

It would have been nice to have CNN, or one English speaking channel on the TV.

    Very good

Quirky art deco(?) design features (wood panelling and an analogue floor indicator on the lift) and slightly larger than average room size - still a bit small by global standards, but there are smaller rooms in Tokyo.

    location is good

as a 4 star hotel, the room is too small

    Very good

    The location was excellent.

The room was looking a bit 'tired' and needed a bit of a revamp, although the location was excellent I felt it was slightly expensive for the standard of the room.

Interesting connection with European influence on Tokyo architecture. Different to modern hotels in downtown Tokyo.

The staff members were cold and unfriendly. We were booked into a smoking room when we requested for a non smoking room. During check in we were told take it or leave it

    Very good

    I liked the location

Just the beds as the mattress was so hard that my husband and I did not sleep very well. While I know now that the Japanese sleep on hard beds not all westerners can and as I have back problems it was a problem for me and a big think about staying there again even though we loved the hotel and location.

  • 6.4
    Good

    location

No individual room control for temperature was too hot. No safe in the room. Front desk staff routed me 7 blocks to catch a Grey Line instead of a block away.

    Very good

The hotel from outside looks so nice but if you are looking for luxury definitly this is not the right place. However, the location is super. Ginza main road is just 5 min from the hotel. One underground station is just benhind the building. Ginza station (3 min metro lines) is just 10 minutes

The room is very small. The TV is even small and old. The number of channels is very limited. Only one English Channel (BBC World) and even it is not very clear Bed is tiny. However, in general the room is clean

    Fabulous

Value for money and location. It is very accessible to my clients and the shopping and dining areas. The staff were so kind and helpful.more power to Hotel Monterey Ginza!!

As we were using the Metro subway system every day, the hotel's location is almost on top of Ginza I-chome station.

We booked and had a confirmation for a Double Room, but was assigned a Semi Double Room. After discussions with the hotel staff we were put in a Double Room without additional charges.

    Superb

Good location. Staff are professional, offering help for visiting.

    A little bit expensive.
